Launch Hour at Thrivent Financial

Juniors and Seniors, are you interested in a career within the Business field? Thrivent Financial is hosting a Launch Hour Event where you will get to learn about careers in Operations Management, Human Resources, Communications/Marketing, Finance, and IT. There will also be opportunities to network with experienced professionals within each of these areas, tour the facility, and learn about how Thrivent Financial helps Christians to be wise with money and live generously.

 

This opportunity is open to Juniors and Seniors only. Bus transportation will be provided for students to Thrivent Financial. Lunch will also be provided.

Education & Human Services Launch Hour
at Appleton West High School

Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, are you interested in working in Education or Human Services? If you may one day want to be a teacher, paraprofessional, counselor, social worker, psychologist, youth advocate, multicultural support specialist, or principal, you may be interested in attending this Launch Hour to learn more about these careers and hear from professionals in this field.

 

This opportunity is open to Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors only. Bus transportation will be provided to Appleton West. Lunch will also be provided.

Your Future Career Expo hosted by the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce

Students, are you looking to make connections with businesses within your career pathway interest area? This may include:

  • direct employment after high school

  • internship opportunities

  • youth apprenticeships

  • summer employment

 

To prepare for this event, please bring copies of your resume. Research interviewing strategies, so you are prepared to speak with the businesses as though it were an interview. Please dress as though you will be interviewing and have questions prepared to ask the businesses/organizations.

 

Busing will be provided.  For specific questions please see your schools ACP Coordinator.

Launch Hour at Schneider

Explore several careers in the Transportation & Logistics and Information Technology field at Schneider. You will hear career stories of employees, tour the facility, and get an opportunity to learn and ask questions about careers in Transportation & Logistics and IT that help Schneider deliver the goods that enhance the lives of people everywhere. 

 

This opportunity is open to Juniors and Seniors only. Bus transportation will be provided to Schneider. Lunch will also be provided.

Wednesday, February 6th 9:30am-2:30pm
Launch Hour at McMahon

Explore several careers in the Engineering and Architecture field at McMahon. You will learn about what goes into real-life engineering and architectural projects, hear career stories from employees, and participate in hands on demonstrations related to careers at McMahon. Some of the featured careers will be Engineering (Civil, Transportation, Water Resources, Environmental, Structural, Electrical), Environmental Science, Architecture, Architectural Design, CAD Drafting, Geographic Information Systems, Building Information Modeling / Virtual Reality Specialist, and Wastewater Facility Operations.​

 

This opportunity is open to Juniors and Seniors only. Bus transportation will be provided to McMahon. Lunch will be provided.

Launch Hour at Fox Valley Technical College's Culinary Arts Department

Explore careers in the Culinary Arts field at Fox Valley Technical College with Chef Jeff Igel. You will learn about different careers in the culinary field, the education requirements for this field, and the Fox Valley Technical College culinary program offerings. You will also hear from various chefs who will discuss their career paths. There also will be opportunities to participate in hands on kitchen experiences, kitchen tours, and cooking demos/tastings including Jambalaya, Quesadillas, French Toast, and more!  ​

 

This opportunity is open to Juniors and Seniors only. Bus transportation will be provided to Fox Valley Technical College.

Festival Foods Launch Hour
 

Are you interested in a career in the Culinary Arts field or within the foodservice industry? Festival Foods is hosting a Launch Hour Event to showcase some of their careers that help produce their quality food products while providing an exceptional customer experience in Deli, Bakery, Meat, and Natural/Organic.

This opportunity is open to Juniors and Seniors only. Students need to provide their own transportation to Festival Foods (W3195 Van Roy Road, Appleton, WI 54915). Lunch will be provided.

Great Northern Corporation Launch Hour

Explore several careers within the Manufacturing, Business Management & Administration, Marketing & Sales, Finance/Accounting, Engineering/Design, and IT field and network with experienced professionals in each area. This opportunity is open to Juniors and Seniors only. Students need to provide their own transportation to Great Northern Corporation (395 Strobe Rd in Appleton, 54914).

This opportunity is open to Juniors and Seniors only. Students need to provide their own transportation downtown Appleton (exact location still to be determined).  

Learn about careers in the following clusters:​

  • Business- Explore what is it like to manage a business and where innovation and risk taking can take you

  • Marketing- What is behind promoting and selling products or services?  How does advertising and market research play a role?

  • Hospitality- See what goes into customer satisfaction and how quality service is key

  • Manufacturing- This will be a first hand look into the building process.
